Online Lessons

Who are these lessons best suited for?

These online piano and flute lessons are designed for motivated learners who want to grow steadily in a relaxed, focused environment.

Lessons are best suited for beginning through late intermediate students.

They work especially well for adult beginners, returning musicians, motivated middle school and older students, along with younger students who are comfortable learning independently online and ready to engage consistently.

What are lessons like?

Lessons are individualized and paced according to each student’s goals and experience. They focus on building firm musical foundations, including listening skills, a strong rhythmic sense, exploration of sound, healthy playing technique, and music theory that supports a deeper understanding of the material being learned.

Students can expect an encouraging environment where learning is paced thoughtfully. Emphasis is placed on developing effective practice habits, where the focus is consistency rather than length of time spent practicing. This is what leads to steady, meaningful progress over time.

How do online lessons work?

Online lessons are designed to be clear, interactive, and easy to follow, with plenty of opportunity for demonstration, feedback, and guided practice.

For the best experience, a reliable internet connection and a larger screen - such as a tablet, laptop, or iPad - are recommended.

Lessons are taught using Muzie.live, a platform that supports high-quality audio and video for music instruction. Access is provided at no cost, and instructions for setting up a free student account will be shared once a meet-and-greet has been scheduled.

What kind of instrument do I need?

In order to support better technique development, tone and overall progress, an appropriate instrument is key. For piano students, an acoustic piano or a weighted, hammer-action keyboard with pedals (built in or plug in) is recommended.

For flute students, a well-maintained instrument is essential.

How are lessons structured and billed?

Lessons are reserved as a consistent weekly time and billed monthly to support steady progress.

Monthly tuition is $225 and includes all lesson materials. Each lesson is 45 minutes in length.

Billing is managed through a secure online platform, allowing for simplicity in both billing and payment. Setup details will be shared upon enrollment.

What should I know about scheduling and policies?

Lesson times are reserved exclusively for each student and are not transferable or refundable.

Make-up lessons are not offered for student absences. However, if a lesson is missed due to illness or an unexpected circumstance, a recording of the planned lesson material will be provided for the student to review at their convenience.

If I am unable to teach a scheduled lesson, a make-up lesson will be offered when possible. If a mutually convenient time cannot be found, an appropriate adjustment will be made to the following month’s tuition.

What about summer?

Lessons continue through the summer months as part of a year-round learning experience. Staying consistent helps students feel more comfortable and confident at their instrument over time.

Summer often brings a more relaxed rhythm with some flexibility in scheduling and opportunities to explore music in a creative, low-pressure way.

Monthly tuition remains the same, as it reflects each student’s ongoing place in the studio and consistent guidance throughout the year.
